a week of no wifi

apparently someone needed the copper in the cable lines more than the internet provider did

so we have been without internet at our guest house for the past week

without further ado (sp?) let me catch you up with what we’ve been up to

  • we hit up the Westbrook beach just down from our house
  • went back to Pinetown for the Hope House Volunteer Braai (BBQ)

  • we got up early and headed to meet the Tomlinsons at their house to head to Tala Game Reserve
  • stopped for breakfast on the way
  • arrived and had our game drive from 11am-1pm.
  • we saw giraffe, rhinos, hippos, kudu, warthog, impala, etc
  • had lunch at the lodge
  • hit up the rock pool there so the kids could swim and then drove back to Westbrook Beach

  • we headed into Ballito for breakfast and internet
  • came back so Madoc could nap and took the kids to the beach by our house
  • took a drive up the coast to Salt Rock – about 15 min past Ballito
  • they have great tidal pools and rock formations there – walked around the beach for awhile
  • dropped everybody off and took a few hours for myself – thank you, Brett

  • woke up early, which seems to be our new normal – around 6am everyone is up
  • headed to Umhlanga for breakfast and wifi
  • went to the KZN Sharks Board for a presentation followed by a live hammer-head shark dissection
  • hit up the big Gateway mall in Umhlanga and headed back to the house for Madoc to sleep
  • Brett took Kai and Rylan to the beach
  • Went for supper in Ballito to the Galley (known for the best seafood around – it really was) with a gorgeous view overlooking the ocean

  • usual wake-up time
  • went to Mugg & Bean in Ballito (almost know us by name there)
  • took a trip to the Flag Farm Animal Farm (kids enjoyed it, adults tolerated it)
  • back to Gateway Mall to kill some time on a cloudy day and eat some lunch
  • more last second paperwork for Madoc’s passport
  • and a laid back evening at home
